Liz Turner was the TIFS Choral Director from 2001-2007 and is thrilled to rejoin after a two year absence. She had the distinct honor of opening the Plano West Choral program and has taught choral music in the Plano Independent School District for ten years. A former All-State Choir member and Berkner High School alum, she received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Texas Christian University (Magna Cum Laude) and a Master of Secondary Education from the University of North Texas. She has completed all levels of Choral Music Experience Certification with Dr. Doreen Rao at several universities across the country. From the summer of 2000 through the summer of 2002, she was the Artistic Director of Younger Generation Chorus of Plano, a children's choir comprised of fourth through eighth graders from across the Collin County area. She has also taught the conducting component of the Plano Independent School District’s Kodaly Institute. Currently, she teaches private voice to a full studio and is the Nursery Director and Children’s Choir Coordinator at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano.
